Vintage Theme Wedding

Sinead and Colm, both Irish and living in Australia decided to return home to Kerry to get married in the beautiful Balleyseede Castle in Tralee. Their theme was vintage.

Bridal bouquet with roses and peonies

Sinead went with an ivory bouquet consisting of roses and peonies with some diamanté detail.

Bridesmaid bouquet of mixed roses

Sinead’s one bridesmaid wore a salmon/peach colour so we incorporated a bit of this colour into the flowers. The bridesmaid’s bouquet was a combination of ivory, pale pink and peach roses and we borrowed a couple of Sinead’s grandmother’s brooches on the stems of the bouquets.  This enhanced the vintage thefor wanted to achieve.

Berry Beautiful Kenmare Wedding

Amy and Steven are both living in Australia. They decide to get married in Kenmare Co. Kerry as this is Steven’s home place.
wedding corsages of rosesAmy’s theme was black and white with a hint of lime green. She loved hydrangeas and wanted them as the main flower throughout the wedding. This worked out perfectly as they are in full bloom in August.

Her bridesmaids wore black dresses so to add  in some of the black colour with a bit of texture, we used some black viburnum berries. We used the same flowers for all the bouquets, white avalanche roses with the black berries.

Sheila and Patrick decided to get married at Sheila’s home town of Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry. Sheila wanted a very natural wild flower look for her flowers, nothing too structured or tight. Freesia & Peonie Bouquet

It was a spring/summer wedding so we were lucky to have some lovely blooms to choose from. In the end we settled on a combination of freesia, peonies, veronica, ornitholignum, viburnum and hypericum berries.

Victoria wanted an ivory bouquet for herself but was not sure about trying to match the bridesmaids colour as this can be tricky and if you get it wrong, it can be disastrous. Luckily we managed to find the perfect colour hydrangea which turned out to be a perfect match. For the bridesmaids bouquets we used white avalanche roses with lilac freesia then peonies, avalanche roses and freesia for Victoria’s bouquet.

The flower girls were quiet young all ages under 5 so we went with wands, made up of hydrangea and freesia. I was told later by Victoria that these were a huge hit with the little girls!

Killarney Cathedral Wedding

Ed and Dee, good friends of ours from Cork, chose to get married in the majestic Killarney Cathedral. Dee liked the idea of a tight hand held bouquet of roses. We decided to add in a bit of colour as her bridesmaids dresses had a pale pink hue to them so we went with ivory, pale pink, medium pink and a deep pink.

The roses were a mix of Dolce, Amelia, Vandella & Heaven and we added in a few Rananculas . To finish off the bouquet we added in some bling, a few diamante to pick up on her earings.

Wedding Dress & Bouquet

For the church we used lots of colour and added in some lime green hydrangeas wich really accentuated the pink tones. We also used our little pew buckets which were re-used at the Cahernane Hotel reception afterwards.

P.S. I have to mention Dee’s shoes here, they were fabulous and she kept them all night on the dance floor!

Gap of Dunloe (The Black Valley) Wedding

Aisling and Aiden from Dublin chose one of the most beautiful places in Kerry to have their ceremony, in the Black valley up the Gap of Dunloe.

It was interesting trying to deliver the flowers to the church as we kept getting stuck behind all the traps (horse and cart) along the way! But we made it and it was worth all the effort.

The flowers Aisling chose we simple and elegant.  We use sweet avalanche roses and pale pink peonies for her own bouquet.

For her bridesmaid we went with just roses and for the flower girl a pale pink pomander using crysanths.

Church Altar Pink Roses

The church flowers were mainly the avalanche roses with white orchids (dendrobium). We used two bay trees filled with avalanche roses at the entrance to the church and a single rose on each pew end.

A Country Affair – Beaufort House

Liz and Sean, both from New York, chose Beaufort House in Killarney to host their intimate country wedding. <

From the start, Liz knew that she wanted; a colourful, lush, textured and scented bouquet. Using quite a few different varieties to create this look, we decided on a mixture of Cymbidium Orchids, Peonies, Roses, Lisanthus, Trachelium, Hypericum Berries, Safari Leucodendron and a few small Crysanths.

From lime to dark green, pink to deep red with a sprinkle of ivory, it really worked well.
